Millie was my mother's very best friend since they were in high school together. In the fall of 1991 I went on vacation with her son Gary to Rhode Island for a week. There I got a very bad foot infection! The Doctor told me I could not drive back to New Jersey! He told me it was imperative to keep my right leg and foot up for 4 days! Millie waited on me hand and foot! We had engaging conversations that week.My siblings and I considered Millie our Aunt! I followed the advice she gave me on a particular tough situation I found myself in at work! Words of wisdom always work applied at the right time! Aunt Millie is still around, having stimulating conversations and lots of laughter with my mother June! At their new addresses Way Way Way Up North! Millie is a kind + wise woman, with a soothing tone to her voice! And a contagious laugh that filled the room she was in!

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Mrs. Murtagh. The picture of her kind face and sweet smile is exactly as I remember growing up with her and the Murtagh family on Hamilton Avenue.
All the mothers on Hamilton Avenue were like our own.
I have many nice memories of our childhood.
My condolences to Jamie, Kevin, Gary and Connie and the entire family.
With sympathy

Millie was a very kind and loving person who welcomed me into the “Chordaliers” and treated me as an equal. Even when she wasn’t well enough to perform, she came to see all our performances! Millie was one of a kind and a the world needs more people just like her.
You will be missed,
Donna Troisi

I enjoyed many happy times with Millie over the years. Whether it was in our singing group, substituting in her class at Seaford Harbor School or enjoying lunch at the Waffle House, she was a truly WONDERFUL friend who will be greatly missed.

Millie was a very valued member of AAUW. I always enjoyed when she and the Chordalaires performed. She and I were also members of Crafty Ladies where Millie crocheted made beautiful and useful items for babies, animals, and veterans. She always made us feel welcome in her home and she proudly showed the albums that she lovingly made of her family of whom she was so proud. We miss her.
