James X. Lowery 65 of Seaford, New York, passed away on April 19, 2023. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend and man of God. Jim’s unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was a great inspiration for all of us. He was a long-time member of Plainedge Church, he came to have a personal relationship with Christ in Germany at Sembach Baptist Church and also attended Long Island Bible Baptist Church where he served in all churches.
Jim was born on September 20th, 1957 in Manhattan, New York to James J. Lowery and Mary E. Lowery (nee O’Flaherty). He attended Plaza Elementary School, and Baldwin Senior High School class of 1976. He then went on to receive his higher education from Farmingdale University, before proudly serving four years in the United States Air Force where he became an Air Traffic Controller, after his military service, he worked as an Air Traffic Controller at JFK International Airport and a part of the Federal Aviation Administration. His work ethic and dedication was impeccable.
Jim is survived by his wonderful wife of 43 years Lorraine (nee Sicari) , their daughters Courtney Erin Lowery, Kristen Elizabeth Martino (Christopher Martino), granddaughters Adrienne Plummer and Reagan Martino. His brother Brian Lowery, his sister Theresa Fasolino. He was a wonderful brother-in-law to Cheryl Lowery, James Fasolino, Artie and Joanne Posillico, a beloved uncle to Jennifer, Janine, Katelyn, Connor, Thomas, David. He was beloved by his Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father James J. Lowery, mother Mary E. Lowery (nee O’Flaherty) and niece Katelyn A. Lowery along with many others he loved.
The two things that mattered most in his life was his love for Jesus Christ and his family (especially his granddaughters) He enjoyed being a fan of the New York Islanders, and watching his oldest granddaughter participate in Archery.
A viewing will be held at Plainedge Church, 96 Stewart Ave Bethpage NY on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 2-4:30pm and 7-9:30pm. On Tuesday April 25, 2023 there will be a short prayer at the church at 10:30am, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
