Obituary of Joseph C. Piccione

Joseph Christopher Piccione, Sr, son of Frank and Rachel Piccione passed away peacefully on August 27^th 2023.   He was a beloved husband to Susan, selfless loving Dad to Bernadette and Joseph “Joey”, embracing father-in-law to Nicole Cicchino and Tom Tramontana, joyful Grandpa to Christopher, Aubrey and Julia, and dearest companion to Luna.  He is survived by his brothers Sebastian Piccione (Alison), Frank Piccione (Eileen), Anthony Piccione (Randy), Robert Piccione (Jeanne), John Piccione, Thomas Piccione (Barbara), and Michael Piccione, and sisters Victoria Horstman (Bob), Mary Pace (Jerry), and Christine Rutowicz Delacruz (Vern).  

Joe grew up in Massapequa, NY, graduating from Plainedge High School in 1971 and studying computer science at Nassau Community College.  Always independently minded, he enjoyed being an entrepreneur, often working alongside family and friends.  His charisma, kindness, and generosity made him a trusted friend to many, yet family was always closest to his heart.  Never judging, he was unconditionally supportive; a husband, father, and brother whose love poured out ceaselessly, setting an example we aspire to match.  Faced with many challenges including a prolonged childhood illness and loss of his vision, he endured without complaint and remained ever positive and hopeful.  These qualities are an inspiration to those who love him and an enduring light that guides us.  Never a day will go by when we cease to miss his physical presence, yet he is forever in our hearts.  If we share a fraction of his hope and faith, we’ll have the comfort of knowing we will all be reunited in the future.
