My sincere condolence to Bernie and the family. Theresa was a lovely lady and a kind and caring neighbor. I enjoyed our "outings" and the times and conversations we shared. She will be missed!

Mrs Theresa ❤️
We have shared a lot of good memories together and you have been through the most important chapters of my life and career . Thank you
I cherish all the pizza parties we threw, marshmallows we roasted by the fire. Watching the game of jeopardy and wheel of fortune every night at 7 . All the reading and coloring you did with little Kesh . You taught her so much. You showed her how to get competitive especially playing dominoes because you won every time haha ! I appreciate how you also taught me how to be patient with little Kesh , you gave me ideas and cues . That you used on your students “ all 30 of them “.
You have watched both of us grow .
We love you and Bernie you have been an amazing person ❤️

I will always remember how Mrs. C-K indulged my dream to make my first key lime pie.
In the mid-2000s, I decided to ensure my supply of key lime pie by preparing them instead of buying them. I told her about my plan and how I was researching recipes. Fresh lime juice was the only ingredient I needed before I could go into private production. She told me about the key lime tree on her property in Florida and I mentioned, with mild envy, how lucky she was to have the fruit within arm’s distance.
The week after our conversation, I received a huge box filled with key limes from her. In a separate envelope, she courteously included a variety of key lime pie recipes – HAND-WRITTEN and specially curated – for me. They varied from labor-intense to no-bake and I tried each one. Success after success after success.
The next year, another huge and heavy box filled with key limes arrived from her. And then another a year later. She supplied me with a shipment of fresh key limes for three years. Each year’s crop was better than the previous one. And the pies were better for it.
To this day, I think of her – fondly and thankfully – each time I order, make or buy a key lime pie.

Therese has know me since I was a baby, she always so kind and welcoming to me, always made me feel so loved. I remember one of my favorite moments I had with her was staying with her at Wading River and eating coffee cake and going for a nice walk on the beach together. I am terribly sad she passed away but so grateful she had her amazing son Bernie by her side taking care of her. She’ll always be in my heart. I love you Therese.
Love always and forever Melissa Bogner

The pickle in the meatloaf story:
Mom was a really good cook and baker and loved to try a “new recipe”. We learned to be careful of that term. Many many years ago she said she was making a meatloaf for dinner, not exciting as we had this many times. When we sat down at the dinner table she was so excited and said it was a “new recipe” and as she sliced it there were green circles in the middle. Well it indeed was a large pickle cooked in the meatloaf. We all agreed it did taste horrible, was hilarious and she never made it again. We learned that night if Mom ever said “new recipe” watch out.

I’ll always remember our drives to and from Maria Regina Church and the joy on your face when you saw your cousin George Lyons greeting you as you entered the church. Both of you had huge smiles and always had a story to reminisce about your times together and your family. I’m sure George was one of the first to greet you again!
May you rest in heavenly peace.
