Rose Marie (Dorsa) Barna passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 1, 2023 at the age of 84. She lived a long and healthy life, unfortunately succumbing to dementia.

She was born on October 25, 1938 in Manhattan to the late Joseph and Fanny Dorsa. She was sister to the late Salvatore Dorsa (Marietta) and the loving wife of Antonino Barna, whom she married on June 12, 1965. For nearly 58 years they lived together in the Bronx, Canarsie, Massapequa, and most recently Florida.

She was the beloved mother of Marietta (Steven) and Anthony (Kelly) and grandmother of Jessica, Matthew, Vincent, and Rosalia. She also leaves behind niece Francesca (Robert), great nephew Robby, and many friends.

She worked as an executive assistant in Manhattan until she became a mother and stayed home to raise her two children. She was a devout Catholic and volunteered at their school, Our Lady of Miracles in Brooklyn, and was active in the parish. She later returned to work as assistant director of religious education at Holy Family parish in Brooklyn.
