We are all aware and deeply respect Bill for being a Great Dad and also believe his title of the "Father of Hofstra Lacrosse" is very deserved.
All that knew him were aware that he was an avid swimmer. and seldom missed a day at the Hofstra Pool, or as Bill would call it "the Tub" On occasion we would be at the pool together and one day he said, "It is a good thing that when we are swimming together this pool has a good working overflow valve" As time went by, we would often greet each other at the pool making reference to hoping the overflow valve is working. One day another swimmer asked, "I have heard you referring to an overflow valve, why are you all concerned?" Bill said, "Because when we are in the Tub together it is all about displacement."

Mr. Fowler ~ my 2nd Dad growing up. Always a warm smile, infectious laugh, and big hug. I remember a cold Jet’s football game, Original Ray’s pizza, a first snowmobile ride at Woodlock Pines, a shopper at the F&W shop … later it was a cold beer! His continued caring nature for me, when I last sat with them both in the living room in 2021. They are together again, long lives lived and loved but tears still flow easily. Inseparable in my heart. Love and Prayers to Patricia and the Fowler family.

A wonderful neighbor, we kept in touch with Christmas cards over the many years since I moved away from Wantagh. The last time I saw Mr. Fowler in person, brings back a very fond memory for my entire family. We were visiting Jeannie (Wilson) in Brightwaters, and Tim and I decided to spend the day in Wantagh/Jones Beach with the kids, showing them around. Unannounced, we knocked on the Fowler door at 9AM. Mr. Fowler opened the door with a mop in hand and said, "You're just in time!".
That laugh and smile--so welcoming. We were invited in and the kids were given cookies and Coca-Cola (At 9AM!). They left thinking Mr. and Mrs. Fowler were the coolest! They were so right. Sending love and condolences to the entire Fowler family.

Such a wonderful man. I used to see him in church and talk with him at the library. Always gleaming and happy. Warm man. Miss him very much. - Jack

Mr Fowler is what I called him but he was like a second father. Always around to hear you out, guide you, give you inspiration and he was always honest good or bad depending what side you were on.
I always made time to visit or call and he was always available to talk. They don’t make men like that anymore. His guidance will be missed.

Bill was always ready with his warm big smile and friendly words and always with a sense of humor. I met Bill, his wife Pat, and daughter Maryanne at St. Frances de Chantal Church in Wantagh. Friendships do abound in the weekday 9am Holy Mass. The friendship would grow and when his wife died in 2021, it left a gap in our faith family. He was a doting father to his family, especially to his daughter Maryanne who gave her love and time watching after Bill till his last day. May you rest in God’s many dwelling places, Bill. Our sympathies and prayers to the family.
