Marguerite Frances(nee Hannaway) Nobile

June 26, 1928 –  February 1, 2023

Margie was born in the Bronx, NY the fourth of six children to her parents who immigrated from County Armagh, Northern Ireland.  Margie and her parents (Michael and Alice Hannaway) and her siblings Alice, Michael (RIP) Catherine (RIP), Mary and Edward (RIP) were raised in St. Luke’s Parish in the South Bronx. 

Margie also lived in St. Alban’s Queens, Clifton NJ and Yonkers, NY where she lived for the past 60 years.

Margie worked for the telephone company, was a teacher’s aid and also worked for US Tobacco.  She retired from US Tobacco in 1993.

Margie was first married at 22 years old but after only 3 years her husband passed away.  At 35 years old she married Raymond Nobile and they settled in Yonkers, NY.  Margie and Ray were married for 36 years before Ray passed away.

Margie is survived by her two children Jane  and Raymond (wife Jennifer) and five grandchildren Patrick, Erin, Aidan, Timothy and Isabel.

Margie spent over 40 years at Woodcliff Park, a summer bungalow community on the north shore of Long Island.  She enjoyed the beach, friends, community events and raising her children and eventually watching her grandchildren enjoy this special place. 

Margie was proud of her Irish heritage, enjoyed listening to Irish music, traveling and being with family and friends.   RIP Margie.
