Fitzgibbon Sr., David J., 92, on February 22, 2016. Beloved “Uncle Dave”, 65 year resident of Massapequa. Predeceased by his wife, Marie Frances. Devoted father of 8, David J. Jr., Thomas(Roberta), Vincent(Nancy), Kathleen Otter(Paul), Margaret Meland(Gene), JoAnn Clerkin(Robert), Michael, Marylisa. Adored by 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Decorated WWII US Army Veteran, 87th Infantry Division, fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Lifetime member of the American Legion Post 1066 and 26 year Chaplain of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7277. Reposing at William E. Law Funeral Home 1 Jerusalem Avenue, Massapequa Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10:00am at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Massapequa Interment Calverton National Cemetery Family will receive friends Saturday & Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm
