Obituary of Douglas A. Nuzzi

Douglas Albert Nuzzi known to most as Doug, Daddy, Uncle Doug, or Noonan peacefully passed away at the age of 44 on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 with his wife Lisa by his side. Family and friends may have known Doug as John and Dot's third son, the alter boy at mass, the friendly classmate at Maria Regina, the tall lanky kid who had a great 3 point shot in CYO basketball, from the infamous USA Trip at Chaminade, at Hofstra within his TKE Fraternity, throughout his time at Cablevision and then Altice as a technician and Learning Specialist, or maybe as the friend who always put others before himself, the uncle who loved to play video games and geek out over Star Wars, the brother who you could always count on, the dad who always had a good "dad joke" handy, the brother in law who loved a good garage sale, or as Lisa's loving husband who absolutely adored his girls. While Doug fought cancer for the last 2 and 1/2 years it never managed to define his life nor his being. He remained the same genuine, kind, loving and selfless human being we all came to love even in his last moments on earth. Doug left an imprint on everyone he knew. He was an ingenious man beyond his years and someone who we both literally and figuratively looked up to. The business of life is the acquisition of memories. In the end, that's all there is. Doug created a beautiful life filled with beautiful memories surrounded by his brothers John and Dan, his wife Lisa, daughter Felicity, sister in laws Susan and Kathleen, brother in law Marvin, niece Isabella, nephews Daniel, Kyle and Kenny. May his beautiful smile and memory live on in our hearts forever. Services will be held at William E. Law Funeral Home located at 1 Jerusalem Avenue in Massapequa on Saturday, February 27th from 11-1pm, 3-5pm, and 7-9pm. A prayer service will be held Sunday, February 28th at the same location at 11am.
