Obituary of John J. Drazka

John Drazka was born in New York, NY on May 10, 1939. He left this world peacefully on February 12,2021 in his own home surrounded by family after a long battle with Parkinson’s and liver diseases.
John was a loving and devoted father and husband. He enjoyed singing and dancing, playing cards and board games, doing puzzles, and spending time with his family. He could often be found playing his accordion or working on jigsaw puzzles in the finished basement of his home. He also enjoyed frequent trips with his wife and friends to Atlantic City where he could be found playing Blackjack, Craps or slot machines. His fun-loving personality and warm sense of humor made him loved by everyone he met. John served four years of active duty in the US Army from 1957-1960. In 1964, he graduated from the police academy and proudly served over 20 years in the NYPD. He retired in 1985, after which he had a few jobs eventually landing as a driving school instructor. John is survived by his two daughters, Kim and Leane, and their spouses, Rich and Khyle; his son, Daniel;two granddaughters, Jessica and Valerie; six nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his wife Carole, sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Ronald Nesnadny; his niece, Karen Nesnadny; and his nephew, Ronald Nesnadny, Jr.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 9:30AM at St. William
the Abbott, 2000 Jackson Avenue, Seaford, New York.
