To some, you were El, Eleanor, Leonarda, or Lenny, to others you were Mom, Nan, or Nanny but the name that described you the best was Nana the Great!
The love PopPop and you shared left behind such a legacy that included 7 children, 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren who you loved and cherished so much. Your door and heart were always open, and no matter the time we spent together it will never feel like it was enough.
You taught and showed us through example early on the importance of family saying things like you always have your family no matter what and family is always there for family! Something I believe we've all taken to heart and have followed.
At every birthday, wedding, anniversary, and holiday, you were there to celebrate with your family and were truly the life of the party. At any special event like a recital or graduation, you were there front and center to cheer us on and celebrate the accomplishment. Something that personally meant so much to me.
You would always talk about how smart and capable PopPop was which was certainly true but I hope you know how amazing, smart and wonderful you were. Graduating early at 16 from high school, then working in the city as a young woman, raising a family, and later working for the district attorney's office is pretty impressive if you ask me.
You also had to be the happiest and most pleasant person I've ever met who never complained or looked at life through a negative lens. You touched and improved the lives of everyone you knew which have may been one of the many reasons you always had one of the fullest social lives ever and more friends than one could possibly count. You left the world a better place and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing you was lucky if you ask me.
Hope you are enjoying heaven reunited with your family, the friends you've lost, and the love of your life Edward Shanahan, my PopPop. I'm sure they've all missed you and are happy to have you home with them living it up. <3
You will live on and your legacy will continue through all of us.

Mom (Nanny) you always lit a candle for me so here is one for you. Your light will forever shine on us all. You were always the glue that held us together and that bond will never be broken. You are a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. We will always remember all the good times and we'll take care of each other as you have of us.
WE LOVE YOU, Jen (and Erin)
