Obituary of Thomas P. O'Grady

Thomas P. O’Grady, 90, passed away surrounded by family on November 18, 2020. He was a retired salesman for the National Biscuit Company which is where he met his late beloved wife, Eileen. They were married for 60 years before her passing in 2014. He is survived by his daughters Patricia (Daniel) and Kathleen (Joseph). He was the adored grandfather, or ‘Poppy’, of Daniel, Kristen, Michael (Katie), and Thomas. He was a new great-grandfather of April Rae. Thomas devoted his life to his family and was their undeniable patriarch. He organized annual family trips to Woodloch Pines and hosted numerous holidays but always July 4th and Christmas. You could always find him in the kitchen cooking or supervising the cooking. His biggest joy was having his family together. He loved his grandchildren immensely, attending every single sports game and every single recital. As they got older, he enjoyed just spending time with them and hearing everything they had to say. A combination of Mr. Fix-It and MacGyver, he had the knowledge to fix just about anything and came up with creative solutions when everything else just didn’t seem to work. He was forever proud of his tilework in the bathroom of his daughter Patricia’s home. Whenever a tool was needed, there was little doubt that he had it. He enjoyed the music of Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, and The Three Tenors. He enjoyed watching British murder mysteries and Blue Bloods. He always enjoyed a decent hamburger and knew a good sauerbraten when he had it. Poppy, our hearts are broken and we will forever miss you.
