Laura & family,
Our whole family has such warm memories of Steve, from almost 30 years ago Steve being the first ref to volunteer for the fledgling OLM Girls tournament to all the many years of Steve volunteering to ref for both the McCauley and Heany tournaments year after year. As Dan would make a million calls to find refs he always knew that no matter how busy Steve was or how many games he was reffing he would volunteer to ref at the tournaments. Dan enjoyed the basketball games at Mercy on Thursday nights! Dan has many fond memories of reffing with Steve, Ref dinners and he enjoyed the ref study sessions with Steve and the other "OLM" refs. So many years and so many memories of a guy who always had a kind word and a smile who would always go out of his way to say hello and something nice to everyone. A fixture in town and at OLM sports. We know your hearts must be breaking, above all else Steve loved all of you and was always so proud to share an accomplishment or story about his family. We wish we could have been there to express our condolences in person. We were exposed to COVID a few days ago and didn't want to endanger anyone. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
