Obituary of Leonard Legotte

Leonard Legotte, or Leo as we knew him, was born in Boston in 1929.  His parents Lena and Thomas immigrated from Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily. They soon moved to New York City and Leo grew up on the lower east side of Manhattan during the Great Depression. Leo served in the Army during the Korean War and upon his return in 1954 he married Phyllis Giurdanella. They settled in Brooklyn and had three children; Karen Legotte Langdon, Thomas Legotte and Lenny Ligotti. Sadly, Phyllis his beloved wife died from cancer in 1983. Leo later married Helen Fitzgerald who passed away in 2016. 

He is survived by his children, as well as daughter in-law’s Angelina Legotte and Paula Ligotti. Grandchildren, Thomas Jr, Phillip, Anthony, Billy Langdon, Gavin and Brendan Ligotti. His loving sister Josephine Porcaro and brother Jack, his sister Nancy Domingo having predeceased him.
