The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living and that memory becomes a treasure. It’s the memories I have growing up with my grandmother that I will treasure. I will treasure the memories I have of heading down the stairs on some nights in search of a snack and grandma making it for me. I treasure the memories of her baking and making the absolute best pinulatas. As I grew up, the memories I treasure became grandma playing with my kids, singing songs and clapping hands with them. Most recently Joseph talking to grandma in Italian and Lucia singing her school songs to her. Joseph and Lucia were so blessed to have a great grandmother that loved them unconditionally. Christina and I were so blessed that she shared in so many of our life celebrations. Grandma we love you and we will miss you. We will celebrate the life you lead and the love you gave. Rest peacefully now and watch over all of us.
