Obituary
Larayne Limitone Smith, 78, of Huntersville, NC passed away
peacefully on October 1, 2017 surrounded by her family. She
was born on September 21, 1939 in the Bronx to the late
Dominick and Florence (Maher) Limitone. She is survived by her
loving husband, Jim Smith; stepchildren: Robin (Jack) Salzman,
Gary (Christine) Smith, Ron Smith, and Craig (Holly) Smith; eight
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her beloved dogs
Oliver, Chicklet, Sophie, and the late Schatzie. She was
predeceased by her stepson Jimmy (Debbie) Smith.
Larayne moved to Orlando, FL in the late 1960s. She and her
husband owned a landscape company that specialized in
creating gorgeous views for estates in the Northwest Orlando
area before retiring to Huntersville, NC in 2003. Larayne loved
life, looking forward to each new day and the possibilities it might
bring. She enjoyed spending time with her family and
entertaining friends; she was a passionate animal lover and a
talented artist whose medium of choice was watercolors. Larayne
possessed a wealth of knowledge and was always impeccably
dressed. Friendly to everyone she met, Larayne will be sorely
missed by all who knew her.
A wake will be held William E. Law Funeral Home, Massapequa,
NY on Thursday, Oct. 5
th
between 6:00-8:00 PM. The burial will
take place at her family plot in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY
on Friday, Oct. 6
th
at 11:00AM.
