Mr. Gatto was one of my greatest coaches growing up in little league baseball. He was always kind and giving while motivating.
I always remember going on great trips with the Gatto family such as MLB baseball games, football (Jets vs. Patriots at Shea...yes Shea), the boy scouts bowling league in Massapequa and eating "Reggie" bars while we played the latest in electronic games.
The Gatto family always welcomed me in their home and I have a lot of great memories with my friend Vinny because of his Dad.
Although I have not seen or spoken with Vinny in quite some time, I can't deny the sorrow I felt upon hearing the news of his passing.
The Gatto family is in my thoughts and prayers.
