Obituary of Jacqueline Herley

Jacqueline McGrath Herley, beloved wife of William R. Herley, age 82, of North Massapequa, NY and New Port Richey, FL, entered into eternal rest on November 30, 2016. Jacqueline was the daughter of John and Lillian McGrath and was raised in Howard Beach, NY. Jacqueline graduated early from John Adams High School in 1948, where she was a cheerleader. During the summers as a child, she would vacation in the Catskills. In 1955, she married William Robert Herley, Korean War Veteran, who predeceased her in 2011. They were happily married for over 56-years. Jacqueline is survived by her adoring children, John (Marie) Herley, Robert Herley, Timothy Herley, Elizabeth (Marty) DeTurris and Michael (Melissa) Herley. Jacqueline's daughter, Mary Beth Herley, and son, William P. Herley, predeceased her. She is the cherished grandmother of twelve grandchildren (William, Nicole, Sean, Jessica, Madison, Hunter, Marissa, Rebecca, Alex, Sarah, Lauren and Mikey), and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving sister Patricia McGrath Abruscati of New Port Richey, FL and predeceased by her sisters Lillian McGrath Coyne and Marion McGrath. During the 1980s and early 1990s Jacqueline worked at Greenpoint Savings Bank, Chemical Bank, and rose to Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank working in the North Massapequa branch, though her passion was always her family. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at William E.
