Florence M. Murphy Obituary

Florence Krygier Murphy passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 12, 2024. She was

96 years of age. Florence was a beautiful person, both inside and out. Born and raised in Maspeth,

Queens, she was a graduate of St. John’s University (class of 1949). She and her husband of 64 years,

loved to sit on the beach and enjoy the sun, sand and water. She was an accomplished seamstress,

reader, traveler, sports fan and bridge player. In their retirement to Palmyra, Virginia, she and Marty

became avid golfers and were very active in their Lake Monticello community. As faithful Roman

Catholics, she and Marty were active founding parishioners, first at Maria Regina R.C. Church in Seaford,

NY, and then in Saints Peter and Paul R.C. Church in Palmyra, VA. Florence was a friend to all, a faithful

volunteer, a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.

George Krygier and Frances Mroczek Krygier, her brother Eugene Francis Krygier, her sister Marion
