Raymond W. Timmerman Obituary
A kind and gentle soul, Raymond W. Timmerman, age 85, died at peace on July
24, 2024, at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital after a chronic illness.
Ray was the youngest son of Louis and Mary Timmerman and the devoted
husband of Josephine Ann, all of whom preceded him in death. He was the caring
father of Josephine Ann Jr., his only daughter, and is also survived by his two older
brothers, Robert and Louis, and several nieces and nephews. He grew up in
Flushing, Queens in the parish of St. Nicholas of Tolentine R.C. Church, graduated
from Thomas A. Edison Vocational and Technical High School in 1963, and
worked in the telecommunications field for AT&T and Lucent Technologies.
Ray was a long-time resident of Island Assisted Living and leaves behind the many
friends he made there over the years. He enjoyed and took pleasure in the simple
things in life and was an avid collector of coins and an enthusiastic fan of the New
York Mets and White Castle hamburgers.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the William E. Law Funeral Home in
Massapequa, N.Y. The family plans a private inurnment at Pinelawn Memorial Park
and a Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul at 11
A.M. on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Church of St. Mary, located at 110
Bryant Avenue in Roslyn Harbor, New York 11576. For those unable to attend, the
