Obituary of William G. White

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bill was born on July 8, 1943 in Manhattan to William and Rose White. He lived in Manhattan until the age of 12 then moved to Woodhaven. Bill served in the Army from 1962-1964. He was stationed in Alaska.  He married his wife Joan in 1969. They resided in Rego Park for a year until they bought their house in Seaford which they've lived in since 1970.

Bill worked on the NYC sanitation until he retired due to an on the job injury in 1972. He had always had an interest in magic and after retirement it became a full time job. Bill became a professional magician and owned an entertainment company, Bill White Productions for about 45 years until his retirement a few years ago. When anyone asked what his job was he would respond by saying "I go to parties for a living." He was very well known in the magic community as well as on Long Island. He performed at David Copperfield's birthday party. He performed on many occasions for famous people such as James Gandolfini, Robert DeNiro, Mickey Rourke, Didi Conn and too many to list. He also had a dog act where he performed with a Boston Terrier named Magic the Dog. They appeared on The View as well as on the animal planet on a show called Pet Stars with Mario Lopez.

Bill was a devoted husband to Joan, a loving father & father-in-law to Christine White Restaino & her husband Michael and a proud grandfather to his two beautiful granddaughters Kylie & Leah Restaino.

Bill will be deeply missed but will never be forgotten by all who knew and loved him and enjoyed his magic for all those years. He's in heaven performing magic again with his "best friends".
