My first exposure to Howard and his family was in 1967. I had freshly arrived in the United States and was living In Brooklyn. I first met his eldest sister, Frances and later was invited to their home on Avenue X. I became friends with the entire family. Howard struck me as a leader type, kind, friendly, approachable and easy to get along with. I still remember going to Times Square with him later in 1967. At the subway stop on 42nd St., there used to be a hot dog stand. Each one of us consumed at least 10 hot dogs that time, complete with sauerkraut and mustard! We had so much fun (and a heartburn afterwards). Later on, I got married and Howard met my wife Jayne. Together with Jayne's 3 siblings we use to go to Montauk Point to go fishing. We used to have a great time. Because we didn't have much space where I was living in Chinatown, we used to leave the fishing gear with Howard. We never collected the equipment. Last time I saw Howard I reminded him about the fishing gear! We had much fun talking about that!
My deepest sympathies to his immediate family!

Hoi Tong was a coworker of mine at NYC HRA MIS. He was the friendliest and nicest person to work with - always with a smile, always with a chuckle. There was something SO nice and funny about him; that is my greatest memory of him. Until age 14, I lived in Plainedge ( not far from his current home) so I would ask him about places I remembered there and he would tell me about them today. Condolences to his family . He was a great person.
