Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John P. Pianese, age 88, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at St Francis Hospital in Roslyn. He was born June 22, 1935, in Franklin Square to Joseph and Josephine Pianese. John was raised besides Angelina, Florence, Mary, Louie and Joey. John enlisted in the US Navy in 1955. He was married for 60 years to the love of his life Anna. He is survived by his loving children Louis (Janet), John (Lori), Suzann, Stephen (deceased) and Vincenzo (Lia). John and Anna have   seven grandchildren Ashleyann (Nick), Jaclyn, Jessica, Brian, Raffaele (deceased), Bruno (Ashley) and Alexandra. John was blessed to become a great grandfather in 2023 to Carter John. John spent his years working as a postal carrier and driving for Catholic Charities. John also known as Uncle John lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with most importantly his family, his friends, golfing, traveling to Italy and the occasional trip to the casino. John was a diehard mets fan. When the game wasn’t on you could find him watching golf, baking his world famous crumb cake and even breaking it down on the dance floor. John took tremendous pride in his family. Though a quiet man, his silence spoke volumes. John’s door was always open and he was always there. From dance recitals to academic achievements to celebratory moments he showed up for it all. John Pianese truly had a heart of gold and we as his family are devastated to share the news of his passing.
