Obituary of Louis Pisano

Louis Joseph Pisano was a long time resident of Massapequa and favorite neighbor on Hawthorne Street. Married and survived by his loving wife of 65 years Lucy, he was the wonderful father of Patricia Pisano Cyganovich and Peggy Pisano and father­in­law to his son Larry Force. Grandfather to Sean and Patrick Force, he is also survived by his brother Gennaro Pisano. Born May 14,1925 in Brooklyn New York, Lou served his country and community throughout his long life of 91 years. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the Coast Guard on the USCGC ALGONQUIN; returning home he continued his service as a New York City Transit Policeman. In later years, he was a proud member and former Commander of VFW Post 7763 raising money through poppy sales in the month of May and helping and honoring veterans all year long. Lou will be remembered as a man who above all else loved his family and lived to make life for Lucy, Patricia, Peggy and Larry the very best it could be. A city boy moving to the farm land of Long Island in the early 1950’s Lou taught himself all he needed to know to make repairs, build extensions, grow a garden and make a home on Hawthorne Street. Over the years the neighbors learned they could always count on Lou to help with their home projects as well. As a family and as a couple Lou and Lucy camped throughout the country in their motorhome and shared adventures with their life long friends. With a zest for life and an endless love for his country, friends and family Lou Pisano touched the lives of many and will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.
