Aunt Florence for a time lived with my parents and I on Sherry Avenue, Wantagh and she started a Fan Club for Steve Lawrence the singer who's big hit was "Pretty Blue Eyes" and she had lovely blue eyes. Mr. Lawrence came to the house to meet her and sang for us and left her his records. Later on, she married Uncle John and I was a flower girl in her wedding party. She was always hospitable and we enjoyed many family Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas parties and bbqs at their house or at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Lake Ronkonkoma. She once helped me and invited me to stay with her the day I was in child labor so I could be close to Bethpage Mid Island hospital where I would have my son Michael. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother-and also a sweet and good Aunt that I will never forget. She had the gift of humor and could tell stories and be so funny. My Mother would say "She had the world by the tail." She will be missed every time I drive by Whitebirch Lane or passing Nettles Island on S. Ocean Drive. God Bless you Dear Aunt and your family.
