Thomas Anthony Messineo, aged 82, passed away on November 12, 2023. The son of the late Anthony and Josephine Messineo, Thomas was a devoted husband and father living in Massapequa with his wife Edith.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas was the oldest of three children, including his sister Maryann Sylvander and brother Anthony Messineo. He graduated with a Master’s Degree from Saint John's University in Queens, teaching at private schools before joining Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY as an English teacher. He would continue his teaching career at Boys and Girls HS until his retirement in 2003, whereby, he was presented with an award in recognition of his service and dedication. Thomas was a devout Catholic his entire life and would later join the Eastern Catholic Byzantine Rite, embracing its rich spiritual and liturgical traditions. Although he valued his privacy and independence, he enjoyed intellectual discussions, particularly around theology and Church history. Thomas is survived by his loving wife Edith, his brother Anthony Messineo, and his children Thomas (Catherine) Messineo and Kathryn (Howie) Traub.
