It is with sadness in my heart that I learned of the passing of my old friend Tommy. When Lois and I moved to the Midwest we didn’t see him and Edith as much, but I still fondly remember the time we spent together. I chose him as one of the ushers in our wedding in 1968 because of my fond recollection of his good character. I think we played together as children since about the age of six. We have infinite memories of wagon trains of toys going up the driveway of our houses, punchball with special rules for balls hit into the trees, hide and go seek and dinosaurs———both models bought at the American Museum of Natural History and ourselves acting like dinosaurs. Oh, and our infinitely long games of Monopoly on his porch and card games of Michigan in his kitchen. In our adolescent years, I remember discussing the new television show by Bishop Fulton Sheen, who taught us about the evils of Communism among other things. We discussed many other things. I was becoming an adult with an interest in the world and we shared common values. My memories of him as well as the other playmates will always have a soft spot in my heart. May my dear friend Tommy rest in well deserved peace.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of a very dear old friend. I’ve literally never not known Tommy and the whole Messineo family. The Thompson and Messineo families lived two houses apart in ‘old’ Brooklyn and I’ve been close friends with his brother Anthony since infancy. Who I am today has been greatly influenced by the Messineo family. I treasure the memory of all of the Messineo family and extended relations with Minutellos, Trapanis, and Yodices, old and young. Of Tommy in particular, as a loyal, caring and gentle man with, as my wife says, “a subtle but Wicked! sense of humor. Our condolences to all the family. Alan and Mary Ann Thompson

My dear brother in law, you will be missed but never forgotten. I always remember your first visit to our country. It was a great pleasure to meet you and to see how all the family enjoyed those nice days with you, my sister, little Katherine and little Tommy at that time. Our nice conversations at the table and you always enjoying a nice cup of coffee after dinner. It always caught my attention that after so many years, after a few visits to our country, you always remembered all the details about the family, the places you visited, the streets.....I just wanted to say that you were a great person, very knowledgeable and full of love for your wife and your kids and I will miss you very much. Rest in peace my dear brother in law. Please know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers as you navigate through this sorrow. Angel and Maritza
