Gloria E. Rogers Obituary
Gloria Eleanor Rogers was born on July 30, 1933 to her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Machulis in Brooklyn, New York. The family moved to Woodhaven where she would meet her husband, John Rogers. Together, they moved to Massapequa, Long Island in 1956 and raised their children, Stephen and Mary Ellen.
Gloria was a registered nurse whose career would span over 42 years at both Mercy Hospital and Nassau County Medical Center. She was an avid fan of Broadway shows, movies, TV and cooking. She taught Religious Education at Maria Regina Church and was a devout Catholic. Her charitable contributions helped those in need. Gloria strongly believed it was better to give than to receive.
Gloria passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband John; her daughter Mary Ellen; her sister Virginia (Bob); her brother Joseph (Sylvia) and her grandson Dylan.
Gloria is survived by her son Stephen (Karen), her son-in-law James Cronk; her nieces Debra and Gina; her grandchildren Justin (Shanelle), Kelsey, Shannon (Ryan), Kelly (Matt), Renee (Ryan) and Sean (Maureen); and 10 great grandchildren Mia, Jack, Kyle, Michael, Luke, Hailey, Ronan, Devan, Carter, and James.
