Peter James Brancazio Obituary
Peter James Brancazio went peacefully Home to Our Lord on March 22, 2026. Pete and his wife Eileen shared 47 years of marriage blessed with the close bond of incredibly devoted children, their loving spouses, and the special joy of cherished grandchildren.
The New York Times honored Pete with a 50th Anniversary celebration, and he retired three years later. Pete followed his desire to help others by volunteering weekly at his parish outreach office, and also assisted them in serving Thanksgiving meals to seniors. As a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, he aided in food drives for those in need, and served as usher at Sunday Masses, always offering a warm smile and a helping hand to those around him.
Pete welcomed and enjoyed his extended family for all holiday celebrations at his house. He enjoyed the simple pleasures, such as, going to local parks and Jones Beach, enjoying breakfast at the local diner, playing cards at the Knights Hall, and watching re-runs of Blue Bloods. Pete enjoyed drives to Virginia to visit relatives, going to an Army vs Navy game, and trips to Manhattan with his daughter with the goal of walking down every street and avenue. He enjoyed following all sports, but his passion was anything related to baseball. Pete and his sons traveled to various baseball stadiums across the country. He also never grew tired of his annual trips to Cooperstown with several family members. A highlight was the 1999 Induction Ceremony when he experienced seeing his all-time favorite Nolan Ryan inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Pete will be remembered for his quick wit, desire to clean and organize everything, friendly nature, and generous spirit. His loving memory will live on in his wife, his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and his many cousins and friends.
Although his family is heartbroken by his loss, they celebrate that they enjoyed a beautiful and blessed life together. Through their strong faith in Jesus, they are joyful that they will one day all be together again.
