Thomas G. Hall Obituary

Thomas G. Hall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud Mariner, passed away peacefully on

March 5, 2026, with his devoted wife and family by his side. He was 84 years old.

Born in the Bronx, New York, on July 24, 1941, to Thomas and Virginia (Kennedy) Hall, Tom grew up

with a curiosity about the world that would define his life. He attended the School of Industrial Arts and

went on to study at SUNY Maritime College at Fort Schuyler, where he served as an officer in the

Merchant Marines. His education not only shaped his character but also introduced him to a lifetime of

travel and adventure.

At age 22, Tom met his future bride, Eileen Mainieri. After two and a half years together, they married on

August 6, 1966, beginning a partnership that would span nearly six decades. They first made their home

in Woodside before settling in Massapequa, where they raised their family and built a life filled with love,

laughter, and tradition.

Tom is survived by his cherished wife, Eileen, and their five children: Eileen Ader (Jim), Laura Oweis

(Nader), Tom Hall (Nicole), Maureen Restrepo (David), and James Hall (Jess). He also leaves behind ten

adoring grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy: Erik (Amanda), Bryan, and Kristin Ader;

Paige, Jordan (Jonathan), and Jake Hall; Hannah and Matthew Oweis; Olivia Restrepo; and Audrey Hall.

A dedicated provider, Tom spent many years working in the shipping industry before owning and

operating a travel agency, a natural fit for a man who loved the world and wanted others to experience it.

Later, he embarked on a career with the TSA.

Tom’s adventurous spirit shaped countless family memories. He led camping trips in tents, pop-up

trailers, and RVs—eventually circling back to tents. He climbed Mt. Washington numerous times and

introduced his children to battlefields, ships, amusement parks, and historic sites up and down the East

Coast. Trips to Disney World and Europe were woven into the family story, each journey adding to the

tapestry of shared experiences.

His hobbies reflected his dedication and creativity. Tom loved working on cars and once rebuilt a 1969

Corvette Stingray entirely on his own. His passion for photography led him to build a small stage in the

basement for holiday portraits and later to create beautiful photo books that boasted pictures of family,

friends, and scenery from his travels.

Tom’s pride in his family was unmistakable. He spoke often of their accomplishments—sports, careers,

and personal achievements—always eager to share their successes with others. He also held deep pride in

his Maritime roots. A member of the Class of 1965, he was a founding member of the Long Island

Chapter of the Maritime Alumni Association, established in 1993.

Tom Hall lived a life defined by devotion—to his family, to his education, to adventure, and to the values

he carried with him from his early days. His legacy lives on in the stories he told, the places he explored,

and the generations who loved him dearly.

He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
