Obituary of Roy E. Schneider

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Roy E. Schneider of Massapequa on August 22, 2025.  Roy was lucky to enjoy 88 wonderful years on this earth. He will be forever missed. Roy was a great man. He was a loving husband to Mary Catherine for almost 64 years. He was a wonderful father to Regina Buckley (husband John) Jean Zorovich (husband William) and soon to be Karen Smith (future husband Patrick) He was so proud of his 10 grandchildren, Kevin Zorovich (wife Alyssa), Kerri Kology (husband Jon), John Buckley (wife Lauren) Joseph Zorovich (wife Katie), Kathleen Nolan (husband Sean), Jessica Zorovich, Jake Brandel, Jeremy Brandel, Kristen Zorovich, and Jason Brandel. He adored his role of great grandfather to Brielle, Luke, Graham, Zoey, John, Rylee, Jack, Kasey, Parker, Sydney, Beau, and  #12 due in February. He was loved dearly and his family felt his love in return everyday.  Roy was a proud retired NYPD police officer and loved to meet a fellow cop and share a story.  He inspired many young people to become a police officer. He was a proud American and an Army veteran. Roy said the rosary every day. He was a devote Catholic. In his spare time he loved to travel, he loved to go out to eat, he loved his dogs and he loved his ponies. He was a true gentleman, but loved a dirty joke too. Besides his immediate family, he leaves behind many friends, relatives, and godchildren that loved him dearly and have fond memories of him.  Please keep those who loved Roy in your prayers as they navigate life without him.
