It was a gift to have the friendship of both Mike and Joanne for the past 12 years. As people of faith, I was privileged to work alongside them with the young people of Maria Regina, both in youth ministry and faith formation. There is no doubt that Mike left a legacy of love, support, faith and friendship to each and every child that was blessed with his guidance and support. The testimony of his family and friends inspires us all to continue his legacy of faith and love in our lives. My deepest condolences to Joanne and his friends and family that will continue to hold Mike in thought, prayer and be guided by the example he set for us all!
Love,
Tina

Dearest Michael,
When we were young I always called you by your full name, Michael, as my Mom always called you by that name.
But as we got older, I liked to call you Mike.
We were born in the same year only 1 1/2 months apart.
We have a really great picture of our Mom's holding us in their arms at a backyard summer party.
My Dad, Uncle Eddie, loved to take pictures with his camera that we still have to this day.
He would line all the cousins up in front of our garage on Sagamore Street as his back drop and snap away.
I am now so glad that he did that as we have the photos.
My brother, Eddie, as you said is the "keeper of the photos" and could be a good historian for the family as he remembers things much better than me.
I remember you telling me when my Mom, Aunt Gertie, passed away that we had something in common now as we were both orphans and I always remember that.
Thank you for being in our wedding party. It meant a lot to me and Bob.
I can remember dancing at your wedding to Joanne when I was 8 months expecting with Jenn.
You married the love of your life who is a kind, caring, loving person and I am so glad that you found each other. She is the best!
You are a very special person and you and Joanne were a special couple.
Bob still talks about the 20.00 lottery ticket that you gave him for his birthday and that he won 100.00.
I loved to hear your stories of your exciting vacations.
You introduced me to Limoncello which I always have in my fridge especially for the summer.
I admired you and Joanne for your exceptional faith and devotion to the Catholic Church.
Your sisters and brother have been an inspiration to all who know them.
It was a wonderful event when you had us all over to meet Mario and his family and I am so glad that everyone had reconnected.
And of course Bob and I loved meeting you for brunch on several occasions.
I really did like the last brunch at SALT when we sat on the outside by the water. It was so relaxing and scenic and we had a great time.
Mike I would compare you to one my favorite shows when I was younger.
If you remember, the opening line to the Superman show was mild-mannered Clark Kent, who was Superman and that would be you.
Our family story could be a blockbuster movie as I sometimes tell Chris, our son, who could produce it with his Hollywood connections.
Mike you were always laser focused on what I was saying when I spoke to you and you always had words of encouragement and wisdom.
You had a beautiful life that ended too soon.
Knowing you instilled in me to be a better person in life.
You were a great listener and were always so patient and kind and it truly had a ripple effect on everyone you met.
I will miss you so much, but will cherish all the memories we had together.
Rest in Peace.
You are the Best.
Love,
Joan

Mike was my supervisor for a few years, but I'd known him for decades. He was one of the kindest men I've ever had the honor to know in this life. He was 'cut from a different cloth' than most. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
