Obituary of Neil A. Russo

Neil Arthur Russo, 73, of Henderson, Nevada, and Huntington Station, New York, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus in Henderson, NV. Born in New York City and raised in North Massapequa, NY, Neil was the beloved son of the late Jerry and Marguerite Russo.

Neil graduated from Plainedge High School in North Massapequa in June 1970 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Oswego in June 1974. He dedicated his career to public service, retiring from the New York State Police in 2020.

A lifelong role model of strength and kindness, Neil lived life on his own terms, guiding others with his grace and compassion. He was devoted to his family, friends, and neighbors, touching countless lives with his caring spirit.

Neil is survived by his three younger brothers, Thomas, Art, and Gary, and his uncle, Thomas Famighetti of Smithtown, NY. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass for Neil Arthur Russo will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. at Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church, 3945 Jerusalem Avenue, Seaford, NY 11783. The service will take place in the Maria Regina Chapel, located within the Pastoral Center of the church complex.
