Ann Donnellan, who lived a long and happy life to the age of 103, passed away peacefully on Easter
Monday, April 21 st , 2025 at Meadowbrook Care Center. Born on October 19 th , 1921 in New York City,
she was the last surviving sibling of eight children born to Gaetano and Angelina Cappiello. Ann worked
as a secretary in New York City, and that is where she met her husband, Patrick F. Donnellan. She and
Patrick married on April 12, 1947 and they enjoyed a happy life together for 54 years. While raising her
family Ann worked at Mater Christi High School in Astoria and also for the Social Security Administration
in Queens. Ann was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and baker and created many beautiful
crocheted blankets and personalized Christmas stockings, many of which are still being used today. Ann
loved her family and celebrating momentous occasions, usually with a homecooked meal and a sweet
treat. Quick to give a compliment and always wanting to look her best, she will be deeply missed by her
loving family.


Ann is survived by her children, Patrick Jr. (Laura) and Barbara, her five grandchildren, Melissa, Tara,
Patricia, Christopher and Courtney. Ann is also the proud great grandmother of Ashley, Shane, TJ,
Angelina, Alex, Charlotte and Liam.


Services to be held on April 27 th , 2025 at the William E. Law Funeral Home from 3-7pm, with a Funeral
mass at Maria Regina RC Church on Monday, April 28 th at 10:45am. Ann will be buried at Calverton
National Cemetery alongside her beloved husband Patrick.
