Just to add to my message for Rose’s family. Isn’t it ironic they renamed the park at the end of my son’s block in Farmingdale to Captain Kathy Mazza Memorial Park.

Q: How did you meet Rose?
A: So sorry to hear of Rose’s passing. Many years ago Rose was in a minor car accident and I witnessed it. I got out to make sure this woman who I had never met was alright, and she was. I kept in touch with Rose a little while. I will never forget how she spoke of her daughter Kathy, who had recently passed. She was so proud of Kathy. What a sweet, gentle soul Rose was. She left an impression on me that I will never forget. God please bless Rose and hold her close. I’m sure she is happy to be reunited with her loved ones in heaven. Prayers to her family.

I was saddened to learn of Rose’s passing and my condolences to John, Ron and Victor, their families and Chris and Maureen. Rose was a wonderful and one of a kind woman who left behind a legacy of love and inspiration to those she knew. Though I have not seen her in some years, she has always been in my heart and thoughts. I have to believe that she jumped for joy when she was reunited in heaven with her beloved Kathy and her husband. Your mom, mother-in-law and dear friend will be missed.
Forever in my heart and may she Rest in Peace

I am heartbroken to hear of Rose, my godmother's, passing. She was an amazing woman, talented, smart, creative and caring. She was one of my mom's best friends since childhood. Rose was a true inspiration and roll model. Growing up down the street from the Mazza's was a treat. Our families were often like one. Massapequa, Suffolk Avenue, and all the memories of my childhood will forever be in my heart. Peace and condolences to the entire Mazza family. I love you guys!
This is a picture of Rose & me from a visit a few years back. If you look closely, you can see my sister's, Cindy, face in the mirror behind us.

Rose and my Mom (Angelina Gagliardo) were friends in middle school and moved to the same block (Suffolk Ave) after they were married - neither knowing the other was half a block away. They remained friends and I know my Mom missed Rose very much. Our families grew up together - parents having parties and doing construction projects; kids doing...well...what kids did back then. I stopped to see Rose some years ago (John said if the Cadillac was in the driveway I had to stop in) while visiting LI. She was going out and told us we had to come back the next day, which of course we did. As soon as we got there, coffee, Entenmann's and photo albums were out. Brought back many fond memories.

That is the most beautiful obituary i have ever read. Rose had a blessed life and surely leaves behind a family who will miss her. May she rest in the Peace of Christ and may her family’s happy memories along with the Promises of Christ bring them comfort.
