Obituary of Katherine Donvan

Katherine Bertschinger Donvan…Aged to Perfection Katherine Marie Bertschinger Donvan was born July 9th , 1917 in The Bronx, New York The first child of Cornelius Bertsching and Katherine Calamari. She was married to Paul Joseph Donvan May16, 1942 Paul was a WW2 Army vet . Serving his country in the Pacific. Katherine and Paul moved with their family of 4 children to Seaford, Long Island in Oct 1953. The fifth child was born on Long Island in 1954. She worked for and retired from the Nassau Library System (NLS) After retirement from NLS, Katherine became an avid golfer and joined the Lady Tee Birds on Long Island.She was a lifetime NY Yankees! She was a founding member of the Maria Regina Parish and founding choir member . At the age of 91, Katherine moved to Bozeman, Montana where she was able to apply her embroidery skills with the RSVP organization. She was a life time fan of NY YANKEES Preceding her in death was her sister Helen Vanacore Cleary, husband Paul J. Donvan and parents Cornelius and Katherine Bertschinger and Grandchild Darin lamonte Katherine is survived by her 5 children:Jane E Burke…spouce William F, Helen P. Donvan, Patricia M Byrne…late spouse William , Paul J. Donvan…spouse Dorothy and Cornelius T Donvan…Spouse Lynn 12 Grandchrildren William J Burke , Deidre J(Burke) Young, Denise E (Burke) Phelps, Sean M Burke Wiliam Byrne, Meghan Byrne John E Milick, Katie Donvan, Laura (Donvan) Triplett, Michael Donvan , Matthew Donvan , Kerri (Donvan) Abraham. And 16 Great Grandchildren McKeila and Madeleine Young,Michael, Ryan and Ashley Burke, William and Grace Burke, Jaynee Kate Phelps Liam, Kyla and Colin Byrne, Henry, Evie and Margaret Abraham and Joseph Triplett. A strong and firm Catholic faith guided her through the joys and trials of her long life. This and her positive attitude prevaliled right up to the last days of her wonderful life December 8, 2015
